At her appointment to get glasses at the age of ten, Dr
. Catherine Rojas was fascinated with the machines and equipment used to test her eyes, which set her on the path to her professional future. Dr. Rojas received her B.S. from Northern Illinois University in Biology and a minor in Chemistry in 1991, and her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1996 from the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Rojas also served as a Clinical Examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry in 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2007. Dr. Rojas belongs to the American Optometric Association, the Arizona Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association. Dr. Rojas has now been practicing Optometry for 26 years, 15 at her current practice. She specializes in contact lenses, dry eyes, management of cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. She is fluent in Spanish and is certified in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents for the treatment of ocular disease. When not helping people see better, Dr. Rojas enjoys riding her motorcycle, painting and cross-stitching. She lives with her husband and Rat Terrier Jacoby.
